Philadelphia’s America’s Birthday Celebration is a jam-packed, weeklong event culminating in the big day of fun, Tuesday, July 4th. This party is one for the record books and promises cool stuff for all ages and all interests, so get there early and make a true adventure of it. The day begins with a ceremony at Independence Hall that celebrates freedom.

The Children’s Parade follows at 9 am, beginning at the National Constitution Center. The fun then moves to Benjamin Franklin Parkway, where you’ll find a Parkway Festival that’s all about food and fun. T

The parade begins at 6:30 and showcases drill teams, marching bands and others in a patriotic salute to the American spirit. Top the day off with the Sweet Sounds of Liberty Concert and Fireworks at the Museum of Art.

Powerhouse Lionel Richie is the headliner of the extravaganza, along with other notables in the music world. The concert is capped off with a star-spangled fireworks display that promises to be the highlight of the week.

The fireworks will frame the museum, presenting a show like no other, all in the spirit of freedom and unity. An event to attend, no doubt about it.
